We’re looking for our first engineering hire, someone who wants to build something that matters, owns problems end-to-end, and sees the opportunity in being early.

Vwala is a personal finance startup on a mission to bring financial peace of mind to every European household. We make it effortless to understand, manage, and reduce recurring expenses so people save money without complexity and focus on what truly matters in life.
We founded Vwala in September 2025, secured angel funding, and launched our first product in December 2025, starting with energy utility costs. But energy is just the wedge. The vision is a trusted platform across Europe that turns raw financial data into real savings, effectively reshaping how tens of millions of families think about money. Our North Star Metric is Total Money Saved, and at scale, that number gets very large.

❓ About the Role
As a Full-Stack and Founding Engineer, you’ll help shape Vwala from the ground up. You’ll work closely with Nick, our co-founder and CTO, to design, build, and iterate on our technology platform end-to-end: backend, APIs, data pipelines, AI agents, and the user-facing experiences that make people feel relief where they used to feel stress.
This is a high-agency role. We’re looking for people with a founder mindset: identifying problems, proposing solutions, and taking ownership through execution. In an early-stage company, that means navigating ambiguity, making trade-offs with incomplete information, and moving forward when things aren't fully defined.
You’ll thrive here if you enjoy working in a bit of messiness, value progress over perfection, and bring the grit to push through challenges. As our first hire, your decisions and contributions will have a lasting impact on the product, the team, and the culture we’re building. That's a lot of leverage, and it's why this role matters.
🫵 Who you are
You've been building for 3-5 years (L3-L4), full-stack. You’re fluent in modern Javascript / TypeScript frameworks such as React, Next, Fastify/Express, etc.
You've seen scale and had exposure to architectural patterns of high-scale applications and can make infrastructure decisions that serve the business.
You take control over your actions, are willing to make decisions, take responsibility, and move forward in ambiguity.
You treat AI as daily leverage, not a buzzword, but a real multiplier for how you work, think, and build.
You care about craft. Not just whether something works, but whether it feels right. You know that details compound.
